Arsenal 3 In - 3 Out?

Arsenal' Transfer Window Is Hotting Up

Arsenal 3 In?

Whilst Arsenal, one of London's top teams, are seemingly linked with no end of transfer targets each and every window, some rumours seem to have more weight than others.

And, this window has been no different. Even today, Ramos is linked with a transfer to the Gunners, even though he reportedly has his heart set on a move to PSG.

So, in all honesty, we have to ignore the vast majority of transfer rumours. However, there are 3 that seem to be almost complete, who are they?

Firstly, Arsenal have apparently signed Nuno Tavares, with a contact until 2026. Whilst this is not an earth shattering transfer, he is an exciting prospect, who will provide excellent cover for the injury prone Tierney.

Next on the Arsenal shopping list is Sambi Lokonga. The talented 21 year old Anderlecht captain is all but in the door, with just a couple of details to iron out. Lokonga is talented, but is he an upgrade of Joe Willock? Time will tell.

And, lastly in terms of 'done deals'..well almost, is Ben White. The fringe England player with the hefty price tag, has limited Premier League experience, however Arteta et al must see something amazing to spend reportedly upwards of 50 million on a defender.

There's The Door - 3 Out

The ongoing saga revolving around the departure of Granit Xhaka seems to be heading to a conclusion. 'Liking' posts about Jose Mourinho has certainly fed the rumours. However, this is one that seems to have some weight to it, since Granit is waxing lyrical about Rome at seemingly every press conference he attends.

The next one is puzzling. William Saliba, who every Arsenal fan is dying to see play, is seemingly going on loan...again. This time he is expected to get more Premier League experience in Marseille of all places! One has to wonder if he has a future at the Gunners, or if Arteta, in his usual tactful way of not insulting his players, is gently nudging him towards the exit...permanently.

Speaking of players that the Gaffer would like to show the door to, Guendouzi is also reportedly on the verge of a move to Marseille. This one is less surprising, although a loan move is somewhat of a shock, given that he is persona non grata at the Emirates these days!

Editorial Comment

Arsenal fans were promised an 'unprecedented' transfer window, and frankly to this point, it has not achieved much. But, in keeping with the trimming of 'dead wood' that Mikel began last transfer window, the targets seem logical and obvious.

One can only hope that whilst showing some the door, that Arsenal can attract the kind of players that will help them challenge once again...albeit without European football next season!
